Mexican Scarecrows is a board game of strategy and deduction, where the objective is to obtain anti-spectrum elixir and save a member of the Cruz family who disappeared thanks to one of the sinister scarecrows.
To achieve this, players must walk around the entire town (board), visiting places such as the pantheon, the church, the ravine, the train station, the park and the lagoon.
On their way they will find clues to deduce the mystery, as well as various prizes and punishments and different ways to get "anti-spectrum elixir" to win.
---------- HISTORY ----------
In a small town in Hidalgo, the Cruz family lived very peacefully, made up of Doña Chole, the grandmother, Don Manuel, the grandfather, Mrs. Martina, Mr. Pancho and the children Elena and Ángel.
They were a harmonious and happy family, as common as any other. The children were entertained by the series and video games that Mr. Pancho brought them whenever he could, while the Grandparents always "harassed" them with their anecdotes and legends, which they already knew by heart.
As the end of October approached, Martina asked her children to buy everything they needed to celebrate the Day of the Dead, she gave them money and sent them to the market near home. When the children arrived, they were dazzled by huge pumpkin decorations, green Jalowin monsters and costumes from their favorite Neflics series and movies. They were excited without thinking twice and bought everything that their mother had NOT asked for.
In the afternoon when she arrived home, Martina observed her garden full of pumpkins and decorations unknown to her, stuck to the windows and walls. And their children dressed up like the children from that series they liked to watch so much, with no more money for decorations. Seeing her children so excited, she didn't say anything and thanked them for decorating.
When the night of November 1 arrived, her family gathered like every year to share and remember their faithful dead, Doña Chole with her tamales and Don Manuel with his traditional pulque that his brothers liked so much. When they arrived they were surprised by the peculiar decoration but happy with their grandchildren there was nothing but congratulations on their costumes.
The night passed serenely until a roar was heard at the end of the street, the lights flickered, the windows creaked and the cold increased; Embracing and fearful, they looked out the window and couldn't believe what they saw!
But that wasn't all... one of the chairs at the Cruz family table was empty! Those dark scarecrows, large, luminous and imposing, had taken one of the family members!
They went out to the garden and found, in a pumpkin cut in half, a parchment with the most fearsome and challenging writing they had ever read...
"In punishment for forgetting
we take a family member,
if you want to find us
the game you must win.
You are able?"
